Miley Defeats Sugarland with sale Budgets!!!

Miley Cyrus' "Breakout" (Hollywood) and Sugarland's "Love on the Inside" (Mercury Nashville) continue their charge towards the No. 1 slot on next week's Billboard 200 tally.

On Nielsen SoundScan's Building chart, released today (July 25), unweighted sales of "Breakout" through the close of business yesterday stood at 205,000, ahead of "Love on the Inside" with 189,000.

Billboard estimates the nine merchants who report to Nielsen SoundScan's Building chart -- Trans World Entertainment, Best Buy, Circuit City, iTunes, Starbucks, Borders, Target, Anderson Merchandisers and Handleman Co. -- comprise about 80% of all U.S. album sales.

This is the first time since December that the Nos. 1 and 2 albums on a Friday Building Chart have each chalked up more than 180,000. The last time it happened was the week before Christmas, on the Dec. 21 Building Chart, when Josh Groban's "Noel" (143/Reprise/Warner Bros.) and Mary J. Blige's "Growing Pains" (Matriarch/Geffen/IGA) were Nos. 1 and 2.

MILEY VS. SUGARLAND:

Early first-day sales reports have Hollywood’s Miley Cyrus and Mercury Nashville’s Sugarland going head to head for #1 on next week's HITS Album Sales chart, both at around the 300k mark. Sugarland, which is leading off with a deluxe fan package that includes extra tracks and videos, before following up with a regular edition released next week, seems to be right on target with estimates, as buyers are showing no resistance to the slightly higher retail price averaging around $3 more

reach between 380,000-400,000 copies throughout the week

Freaky accident in : Hannah montana set!

There was a scare on the Tennessee set of Hannah Montana: The Movie Tuesday when high winds blew a piece of production equipment onto a ferris wheel full of extras, injuring several of them. The film's young star, Miley hope cyrus, 15, had just finished shooting a scene next to the ferris wheel when the accident occurred, according to TMZ.com, which first reported the incident. "During a break in the filming of Hannah Montana: The Movie, a minor accident occurred involving a piece of production equipment," Disney said in a statement confirming the accident. "Fortunately, there were only a few minor injuries. Medical personnel have treated the extras and crew involved. None of the cast was on the set. Filming has resumed."Neither Cyrus nor her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, were on the set when the "giant" piece of lighting equipment fell onto the ferris wheel, according to reports. An extra, Brenda Blackford, described the scene to Nashville station WKRN-TV: "When the wind caught it, all the cables were loose. It started [flying]. I was watching to see which corner of it was gonna hit the Ferris wheel, because it was unavoidable."

The Disney Channel stands by their Hannah Montana superstar, confirming that she will perform at the concert wrapping the weeklong charity event held at Walt Disney World in Orlando. After some private photos hit the blogs – but before Cyrus apologized for the“embarrassing” Vanity Fair magazine shoot– a Disney exec conceded, “the Internet adds a whole new twist to typical teenage life.” “Being the most famous 15-year-old in the world is exciting but fraught with challenges and exceptional responsibility,” Gary Marsh, Disney Channel entertainment president, told the Los Angeles Times about their biggest star before the photo flap. The scandal hasn’t slowed down Cyrus’s packed work schedule. In addition to the concert – which airs in July and also features the Jonas Brothers, The Cheetah Girls, Demi Lovato and Jordan Pruitt – Cyrus will begin filming the Hannah Montana movie next week in Nashville. Her new album is slated for a July release. Not to mention most industry experts expect Cyrus will be just fine. “The audience is going to let this one go,” says Jerry Del Colliano, a music industry professor at the University of Southern California. “The parents are going to forgive and the kids are going to love her just as much.”
